All the Pretty Horses
Dezi just earned Kindred status with the Eglain, which means he was eligible to buy a brand new horse! As Dezi loves getting new horses, especially the cool reputation horses, he was all over that, and while I was maneuvering to take a pic of his new baby, I figured I might as well post pics of some of the others. These are about half the horses Dezi owns - he also has a plain bay with no tack and three horses we got when we bought the Isengard expansion set. I didn't cap any of those, maybe another time.
Oh, and yes, we did bother naming these horses and detailing their personalities. Sue me, I have a brain that loves minutia.

This is Dezi's new stallion. The name it comes with is 'Freckles' so you can bet he'll be changing that. The tack is suede with wool tassel fringe. You can tell if you zoom in close enough. Very Gucci, very Blazing Saddles, and we're considering making an outfit at some point to match it, maybe something like this though for a guy, obviously. This horse has a fiery, youthful personality. Bred small and strong by the hard, suspicious Eglain folk, it's basically a mustang breed. 'Freckles' is a little nervous about being touched and tends to toss his head and dance when agitated. He has great stamina which allows him to push hard across long distances, and is quick on his hooves and alert as well as tough. He can be very picky about the type of his feed and the temperature of his water, and doesn't like being stabled and has a tendency to chew the wood of his stall. Fortunately, he'll get lots of air, work, and travel with Dezi.

This is Calamity Jane, Dezi's filly from the Mathom Society. The minute he saw her he was in love with her coloring and her tack, and he mercilessly farmed Mathom rep items until he could buy her. 'Calamity' was the name she came with - he added 'Jane' as his own dry sense of humor. She's an easily-excitable and aggressive filly who keeps an even keener eye out than Dezi does when they're in hostile territory. She can be a little on the spook-easy side, and downright mean when creatures or people she doesn't trust get too close. If you see her bare her teeth or fold her ears back, better watch out.

This is the Frosty Yule Festival horse Dezi bought and named IcingDeath after Drizzt Do'Urden's scimitar. I know, I'm a geek and it leaked over into him. I honestly think he just thought the name sounded cool, but counter to his name, IcingDeath is a rather sedate, ungelded horse with a fairly laid-back personality. He has a little bit of a tendency to wander and crop at grass when Dezi's not paying attention. Dezi thinks he's lazy, but it's more like he's just not that excitable. He's friendly and more than happy to accept pets and admiration from anyone who wants to give them.

This is Witch Hazel, the Harvestmath Festival steed. I think Hazel was the name she came with and Dezi added the 'Witch' because it sounded more halloween-y. Witch Hazel has sort of an imperious personality. She likes to take her bit between her teeth. She thinks Dezi can be an idiot sometimes and she manages to express that about as well as a horse can. A little stubborn, but ultimately cooperative, she has little patience for foolishness and inattentiveness in a rider. She will tolerate people petting her, but manages to communicate an attitude of disdain for the whole process.
